Deep Web

The Deep Web is the part of the internet that you can't find with Google. It's like a hidden layer where:

  • Online databases you need a login to access
  • Content behind paywalls : Content behind paywalls is online material that requires a subscription or payment to access, like articles on premium news websites.
  • Private company files

How to Access: Use regular web browsers with special login credentials or permissions.

Dark Web

The Dark Web is a smaller part of the Deep Web that's purposely hidden. It's known for:

  • Anonymous browsing
  • Secret marketplaces
  • Hidden forums

How to Access: Use special tools like Tor or I2P to stay anonymous.

Impact on Cybersecurity

Deep Web: Generally safe but can have sensitive info. Protect private data and company resources.

Dark Web: Can be dangerous with illegal activities. Hard to monitor and control because of anonymity.

Challenges

Monitoring: Hard to keep track of activities due to anonymous browsing.

Regulating: Balancing privacy and security is tough. It's challenging to enforce rules while respecting privacy.
